Did you ever do this... I hope not!

My son came to me yesterday and asked, "Dad, is it okay to drink your pee?" I told him, "I sure wouldn't do that, but I guess you could, though perhaps you could get sick from it." I don't know how now, but my son said something that clued me in that my son's little brother who is 5 had done just that. They had been making lemonade and it sounded like they had peed in the cup with the lemonade and the little brother drank it!

Once I figured that out I, I had a thought. I said aloud so they could hear, "You if someone did drink some pee, they could get very sick." My 8 year-old son asked, "How long?" "Possibly a whole month, might even need to go to the hospital." I explained that the pee if concentrated in the stomach could cause damage to the stomach wall. "However," I said, "If a person will do somersault for 10 minutes, it will prevent the pee from becoming concentrated in the stomach because the liquids in there will be moving all around. If a person did that they would not get sick but be okay."

I was doing the dishes while saying this. Then I noticed my 5-year-old boy quietly sneak from the kitchen into the family room. Suddenly, he started doing somersaults in the living room. I asked, "What are you doing?" He said, "I just want to do somersaults. Dad could you set the timer for 10 minutes?" So I did, but I only did it for 2. After continuously doing somersaults for almost 2 minutes, he said, "I'm dizzy!"

The timer went off and he stopped, walking away like he was drunk. Then I was surprised when my 8-year-old said, "Dad, could you set the timer for me? I want to try doing somersaults too!" I laughed. My wife who heard everything, still does not quite believe that her 2 sons actually drank pee. I don't know that many of us are able to boast about that... thankfully!
